Downtown Parking Scenarios

Downtown parking is a topic often discussed in public meetings, focus groups and community surveys. A number of streets and areas throughout downtown were evaluated with the goal of increasing parking capacity with minimal disruption to the existing natural environment, or overly expensive solutions such as parking decks.

Creating additional on-street parking could reduce costs for downtown business expansions and preserve land for tax generating development opportunities.  The parking solution visions are concepts that could be phased in over time to reduce capital outlays and allow routine evaluations of the downtown parking capacity and needs.
